Description

Following on from my December 17th image., this time to view the  the other side of Mars.. This time I decided to use a larger ROI, to avoid losing as many frames while nudging, but this slowed the capture rate down to 115 FPS (from 142), and resulted in a large number of dropped frames after about 90 seconds. Either way, I'm pretty pleased with the result. Seemed to be less cloud cover on Mars this time.  This is the best of 26 x 3min captures (as judged by RS images). The seeing varied a lot, thin clouds, and some strong windblast  didn't help. Meteoblue showed the jet stream at about 20 meters/second.   Still plan to play around with WINJUPOS with the rest of the 26 captures, to see if derotation of the best frames helps.
