Description

Imaged Venus on the evening of June 15, 2023 (6/16 in UTC).  Venus had a diameter of 27.1" and was 42.8% illuminated.  Seeing was very good, but transparancy was terrible due to wildfire smoke (my UV images required 7x the typical exposure time to get the same histogram levels).  Turns out the fine seeing was all that matter as these are some of the more detailed UV images I've managed to obtain.

Imaged with a C8 Evo, Siebert 2x barlow, ZWO ADC, Astrodon Johnson/Cousins Photometric UV and Baader IR 685nm pass filters, and ZWO ASI174MM. Imaging train was configured to give me ~F/20 (FL=4000 mm). Image capture using Firecapture with the following gain/exposure settings:  UV: g=375, 75ms; IR:  g=250, 3 ms .  Stacking in AutoStakkert3 (best 5% of 20000 frames captured over ~180 seconds for IR, best 15% of 5000 frames capture over ~360 seconds). De-rotated images in WinJupos.  Generated false RGB in WinJupos (R=IR, no green, B=UV).
