Description

Lately it seems like I have Barnard on the Brain.

One of the things that has amazed me, having done several dark nebulae this summer, is how different they are. Some can be pushed to show amazing detail but others stubbornly refuse to be anything but a dark patch and the rest fall somewhere in between. I suppose it comes down to total imaging time and sky conditions and of course processing ability. In this case, there just wasn't any "there" there to try to enhance so I opted for the traditional "dark patch" look. Even in that subgroup I love the variability of the results.

Processing:

RGB
channel combination
DBE
blurXterminator
noiseXterminator
GHS
a bit more noiseXterminator
HT (contrast)
curves (contrast & color)

This was fairly minimally processed as I couldn't think of anything else that would add to it.
