Description

The Soul Nebula (Westerhout 5 or Sharpless 2-199) is an emission nebula located 7.500 light years away from Earth in constellation Cassiopeia. The Hubble Space Telescope is capable of imaging in very narrow wavelengths of light using various filters (Hubble Palette). This enables astrophotography to reveal details of objects in space that the human eye cannot easily see, if at all.
