Two Planetary nebulae, of course, from different parent stars. NGC 6888 is a nebula spawned by gases ejected from a Wolf-Rayet star (WR-136), which sheds about 1 solar mass every 10,000 years. The other nebula, PN G075.5+01.7, at the lower left is a planetary nebula discovered by D. Jurasevich in 2007. The process by which this nebula formed is not precisely the same as that for NGC 6888, but both consist of gases and dust ejected from stars approaching the ends of their lifetimes. NGC 6888's WR star is a super-massive star with a very short lifetime. The smaller nebula is the death knell of an intermediate-mass star. The background, rich in Ha emissions make a nice backdrop for these two brothers.

This image is a mix of RGB with the Ha and OIII "pure" emission lines (without the continuum) calculated by the solution of simultaneous equations describing the source of the photons for each of the broadband and narrowband, unstretched, integrated images. Hope you find the image interesting and artistically worthwhile.
