Description

27min of integral Ha exposure of immediate surroundings of Alpha Crux (Acrux) searching for diffuse nebulae that might be hiding in the halo - captured remotely using Telescope #3 (ASA-N D = 0.5m f/3.8, FLI ProLine 16803) system of ChileScope on Aug 22, 2023.

Besides the planetary nebula PK299+00.1 in the corner of the image that doesn't have extended diffuse component visible at this scale, there are 3 notable diffuse objects in this frame.

"aCru Nebula X1", that has a very bright counterpart in the IR (WSSA 12 mkm survey)

"aCru Nebula X2", arrow like nebula at the same distance from Alpha Cru as "aCru Nebula X1":

"aCru Nebula X3", compact nebula with an extended counterpart in the IR (WSSA 12 mkm survey) - possibly VdBH 57 reflection nebula [7] with some IR counterpart:

Revisions E and F are showing the WSSA 12 mkm data overlays for the same region of sky indicating the IR counterparts of the 3 nebulas listed above.
