Description

„Only“ 10 light years across, the relatively small Cocoon Nebula is a combination of an emission- and reflection nebula and is located in the constellation of Cygnus in a distance of about 3.300 light years.
Right beside the Cocoon Nebula you can see the dark cloud named Barnard 168.
On the right side of the image M39 is located - an open star cluster with a number of about 80 stars whereof most stars are only 300 million years old.
