Description

The Barnard's Galaxy is one of the best known galaxies in out night skies and it has the peculiarity of being the closest non-satellite galaxy to our Milky Way. It has many active star forming regions, which might have been triggered by the gravitational interaction with ours and, due to that, it features many bright young stars which imprint its blue hue. The IFN of our galaxy is also well seen permeating the FOV.

I have this photo in the making for about one year - luminance was shot in a B4 sky in 2022 and RGB+Ha in a B8 sky in 2023 - and very challenging to capture because it rises no more than 34º from my location and objects are quite dim.

Hope you enjoy!
