Description

Daeboreum (대보름; literally "Great Full Moon") is a Korean holiday that celebrates the first full moon of the new year of the lunar Korean calendar which is the Korean version of the First Full Moon Festival.  This first lunar new moon was February 17 this year.  My wife being Korean wanted me to grab a picture for her to share with friends.  I'm new to moon imaging and found much more difficult than I imagined.  I did not take a video, but took 20ms subs at zero gain.   I used PIPP and AutoStakker on my iMac in a Windows emulator via VMWare.  Lots of hoops.  Lots of trial and error.  I wanted to get something like the "mineral" moons I've seen posted, but alas I've had it for now on this project.  My wife was thrilled!

HAPPY LUNAR NEW YEAR!

PS - I have much greater respect for all you moon photographers!
