Description

This is the winter of Orion.
3 weeks ago I took my first picture of M42; now I'm going with the beautiful Horsehead & Flame Nebula, probably some of the most precious gems of the Sky.

Like I did for M42, in this first picture of IC 434 & NGC2024, I wanted to have a framing with the surrounding area of those objects, to highlight the 'environment' of those beauties.
For that task, I used my refractor Meade 5000 ("'old is gold"), at 384mm f/4.8 and I collected almost 15 hours of Lights, which is not bad at that speed.

To add a little bit of pepper to this recipe, I pushed for the first time my camera at -20°, which maybe doesn't add too much if compared to my previous images at -15° but hey, that's for my fun and emotion! In that way... I was glad of a cloudy night to make the new dark library.

And yes, I wrote that this is the first picture of these objects; I'm working on two more images, with different setup and technique. More on that later... It's the winter of Orion, as I said in the beginning. I arrived a little bit late to Orion, but hopefully not too much.

Thanks for watching!
