Description

The object is also know as the Garlic Nebula.  It was originally classified as a planetary nebula so Abell included it in his catalogue of planetary nebula as Abell 85.  Further research confirmed it as a supernova remnant and it was renamed CTB1 (Caltech Observatory list B catalogue of radio sources) so I guess it has three names.   In any event it is a extremely dim and challenging object which is almost invisible without narrow band filters.
