Another dark/reflection nebula classic.
After finishing the
Shark I slewed over to the Iris and started shooting. I kept the rotation the same and centered the Iris. I did not plan the framing here, another rotation angle might have been more beneficial.
I dedcided to go all out on HDR with this target to reveal as much as core as possible. During processing however I realized, the Iris loses a lot of its oomph with the HDR cranked up all the way, which is why I decided to dial down and keep the core a bit brighter than initially planned.
Processing in total was a nightmare. It took me several iterations until I arrived at the final version which I'm okay with. This process took a lot longer than the actual acquisition.
It was worth it though, I refined my techniques quite a bit while struggling with this project, that will come in handy in future projects.
