C/ is also known as NGC 2403 and part of the bode Galaxy group M81 in constellatoin Camelopardalis, being about 10 million lightyears away and 50.000 lightyears in diameter.
Being of magnitude 8.9 and spreading 21x12' it can be seen with binoculars.

Even though I took 14h of integration time processinf was a mess, as I had mislabed my filters, swapping blue vs green in between nights, and also took very short flats on an LED panel.
Both are a very bad idea, as the create massive gradients, that resisted both GradientRemoval and Graxpert persistently, so I was close to discarding 6 of the the 14 hours of data.
Creating a mask from the luminance channel did allow to get rid of some of the gradient effects eventually.

- LinFit on L for RGB and H
- GradXpert on all channels
- RGB combination, gradient removal with L derivated mask
- H continuum subtraction and integration into RGB with toolbox scripts
- RGBH BlurX and NoiseX, EZ Softstretch and some curves adoption
- L BlurX, NoiseX, EZ Softstretch and cureves adoption
- LRGBcombination of L into RGBH
- finetuning curves with L derived masks

Views by Submitters (available since September 19th, 2023) Every image is assigned to 50% of available Submitters. In the event that at least 80% of them don't view the image before its time in the IOTD/TP process expires, it's assigned to the other 50% of Submitters and the process begins anew.
