Description

First solar h-alpha image for the season of 2023 - finally. Its been cloudy and I've been busy with life

The sky was full of thin clouds coming and going so I did not want to start the season with an animation while they are usually on my list. Instead I made this 24 panel mosaic for the full disk. I recorded 200 frames per panel at 164 fps and it took 10 minutes to get all 24 videos recorded. However I was having hard time in stitching the mosaic as per different brightness due to those inconvenient clouds. Rev B shows how the mosaic looks without any blending.

Data taken in our parking lot between 0824 - 0834 UTC (1124-1134 Finnish time). Firecapture and 8 bit data acquisition, 6 ms exposures and gain of 125 (31 %). Stacked 400 best frames for each panel. The image is quite large (about 11k pixels) as I put all the different processing into a single image. Some parts are a bit soft but that's how it usually goes when there is not enough overlap and when there are issues with blending.
