Description

This image has been recorded in April 2024 slaloming through the clouds. The version published incorporates the M81 and M82 cores excerpted from an image taken with a shorter focal. The linked image description delivers more detail about this galaxy couple.
One of the two annotated revisions shows the impressive carpet of distant galaxies populating the background.

IFN
The IFN located at (RA=9:35, Dec=70:00), in the upper right quadrant of our image,  is the one that in 2004 raised astronomer Steve Mandel attention to IFNs. Mendel named it "Volcano Nebula" and included it in his catalogue of integrated flux nebulae in a project called the "Unexplored Nebula Project" that so far includes only 9 Mandel-Wilson objects. Most of IFN objects remain unnamed.
I found no distance estimates, but it is reasonable to think that IFN lay approximately 500-2000 ly away from us.

Coddington's Nebula
In the image field is also present the Coddington's Nebula IC2574, a dwarf spiral galaxy 12.8 Mly away, that I published here in a version taken with my 200/1000 mm Newtonian.
