Description

NGC 6871, also known as the Little Ring Nebula, is a planetary nebula in Aquila.

I used  Narrowband filters mixed in a natural-looking palette with Red: 75% Ha + 25% SII, Blue: OIII, and Green: 85% OIII and 15% Ha. (from Jon Rista's web site).  I replaced the stars with stars taken using R, G, and B filters, calibrated with PixInsight Photometric Color Calibration.

During processing I performed noise reduction, deconvolution, stretching, and Local Histogram Equalization on the mono frames before combining into color image to preserve some of the individual color detail.
