      Description

All the four giant planets in the outer solar system taken the same night, between 6th and 7th of September 2023, plus a bonus (dwarf planet Pluto). Main satellites were captured with separate shots, using longer exposure then planets and composed with an overlay of the planet disk; everything was aligned with WinJupos showing the North pole on the top.
Everything is 2X resized respect to the original resolution of 0.3 "/px.

For each planet I took a composition with different settings. Stacked SER video were shot with Firecapture and processed with Autostakkert3. Stacked images were sharpened with Registax and derotated with WinJupos.

      Settings for each planet:
      • Jupiter disk - 2xRGB + 2xL images, rotated with UT 02:18, classic LRGB composition
      • Jupiter satellites - RGB composition, rotated with UT 02:42
      • Saturn disk - RGB composition, rotated with UT 23:10
      • Saturn satellites - single L capture (UT 21:08) with shutter set at 200 ms
      • Uranus disk - R-RGB composition with R channel as L (to enhance contrast between North pole and other regions)
      • Uranus satellites - single L capture (UT 00:06) with shutter set at 500 ms
      • Neptune disk - RGB composition
      • Neptune satellites - single L capture (UT 23:13) with shutter set at 100 ms
      • Pluto - 800 stacked frames with shutter set at 2s (UT 20:16)

Please note that planet disks and satellites distances are in scale (except Pluto that is not resolved), while satellites disks are not (except galilean moons and Titan that are resolved). Satellites realtive brightnesses are in scale only inside each planet system, however they are not comparable across systems (because of different shutter times and processing).

I think it is an impressive results for amatorial instruments, since some satellites reach 15th magnitude. A total of 14 satellites were captured, plus 4 giant planets and a dwarf one.

      I hope you'll enjoy.
      Clear sky to everyone!
