Description

Located about 650 light years away in the constellation Cepheus, LDN 1235 is a dark nebula, which bears an uncanny resemblance to a giant shark. As such, It is a large area of dark dust which obscures much of the light from the stars beyond. Located within LDN 1235 are two bright reflection nebulae, vdB 149 and 150, at the top and bottom of the shark.  To the upper right, is a distant galaxy PGC 67671.

Given my Bortle 8 skies, is definitely one of the most difficult targets I've imaged. The image is a compilation of about 34 hours of data shot at F2 using the Celestron RASA 8, Celestron LP filter and ASI 294 MC Pro.

Calibrated, stacked and  processed in Astropixel Processor and Photoshop.
