Description

My first attempt at the 'Heart Nebula' & 'The Fish Head Nebula'.

The Heart Nebula (IC1805) is 7500 light years away from Earth and is located in the Perseus Arm of the Milky Way Galaxy in the constellation Cassiopeia. It was discovered by William Herschel on November 3rd, 1787.

This image also has nebula IC 1795, aka the 'Fish Head Nebula', which is an area of new star formation with glowing gas and dust, in the constellation of Cassiopeia. It is actually a portion of the larger Heart Nebula complex (IC 1805) that is located about 6000 light-years from earth.

I captured this with an Astro-Tech 72mm refractor telescope, Astro-Tech 0.8x reducer/field flattener, and a Canon DSLR. This was 2hrs 42 mins of exposure time.
