Description

This small open cluster is Cygnus was one of the first DSO's I was able to locate with a telescope when I was a kid. Over the years, I've had the opportunity to view it through a wide variety of instruments. Knowing that it lies in a region rich with nebulosity, I decided to give it extended attention from the new Arizona backyard and collect a good deal of Ha data to bring out the nebulosity that appears around the cluster.

The above image was taken through an Explore-Scientific 127mm APO with an ASI1600mm Pro over several nights in April. The image comprises the following:

L: 36 x 300s

Ha: 32 x 300s

R: 57 x 60s

G: 57 x 60s

B: 57 x 60s

Total exposure time was 8 hours and 31 minutes. The image was processed in Pixinsight and tweaked in Photoshop.
