Description

This is one of, if not, my favorite capture. I had the pleasure of working at an observatory at the University of Texas at Austin, which had a fantastic telescope. It was a 12-foot long refractor built in 1902. I was super lucky to get this shot of Io and its shadow transiting over Jupiter's Great Red Spot! When people ask me what my favorite planet is, I say if you count the moons as part of that equation, then it's Jupiter because of this picture.
