Description

I had tried and failed to acquire data for this target passed two years due to the summer cloud and equipment problems. This summer I got 1.5 full-night sessions for a week on my location this summer. The seeing is average and the equipment is well-behaved. This is an SHO color mapping image. Any C & C are welcome.

-- Facts --

The Eagle Nebula, an Emission nebula with an open cluster, is a star-forming nebula with a young open star cluster located in Serpens and has an apparent magnitude of 6.0 about 7000 light-years distant. Eagle Nebula is named “Eagle” and “Star Queen” with its visual impressions of the dark silhouette near the nebula center, which contains several active star-forming gas and dust regions. The Eagle Nebula, around 5.5 million years old, spans some 70 by 50 light-years across. Within the heart of this nebula is a cluster of stars and a region of star formation named the “Pillars of Creation”.
