Description

A summary of merely three short sessions, aka malevolent lunar theft through gaps in the clouds. Anyway, at times I believe I could be wanted for espionage, as my C8 occasionally resolves too many details. In order to maintain the high image quality, I have mounted my gear on a hydraulic lift platform. The moon is receding 4 cm every year. 🤔

A few of the images are first-light shots with my new Takahashi Ortho barlow (my first and only Tak product, what a luxury!). It has only two lenses but performs as if it had four (the less glass in the train the better). Can't wait to put it to a test with the planets.

BTW, has anybody succeeded in connecting two Windows 11 PCs wirelessly with "Remote Desktop" without banging your head at a wall? All I get are several input boxes for permissions, IDs, passwords, etc. and I have no idea what I'm asked for. The error messages are telling me that I'm an idiot, nothing new, but no darn idiotic security needed for connecting a scope. TeamViewer is working well though a bit sluggishly. Reason for asking, I have a HiMeLe 4C overclock MiniPC with N100 CPU which performs extremely well with SharpCap, however, for SER videos at high fps you need to add an SSD as the built-in eMMC is too slow, dropping half of the frames. The MiniPC is a fan-less design developing sufficient heat to deter dew.
