Description

Seeing a faint arc of O3 around one of my first images of NGC1360 I have tried for sometime to bring out more detail.
I can't find any other images of this O3 emission around NGC1360 but that doesn't mean they don't exist it's just I am hopeless and finding them
For an explanation of this O3 emission I asked Marcel Drechsler for help and he gave me a great explanation.
"This OIII cloud in the vicinity of NGC1360 is interstellar matter that is ionized by the hard UV radiation of the white dwarf of NGC1360. Some of it could also be halo material from NGC1360, which is also ionised by the white dwarf"
Thanks Marcel!!!
Having not many clear nights here in southern Tasmania I resorted to the RASA 8 and 10min subs.
I have managed around 80 subs so far but obviously need a lot more to bring out finer details.
Have added RGB stars using Antlia Triband filter (1hr)
A work in progress.
Below is my original image where I noticed the O3 arc.
