Description

Sunspots (20230808) - somehow quieter

Compared to the observations of the last few weeks, there now seems to be a breather in the visible spectrum of the Sun: Bright meandering flares in the regions of the Sun's edge darkening, however, speak a different language. There you can see some active regions showing chaotic sunspots - albeit much smaller than last time.

The spots that can be seen larger in this image all have a relatively elongated but undisturbed umbra and at the same time a penumbra that also surrounds them in a balanced manner.

So all in all a 'somehow quieter' sight today.
