Description

Words simply cannot convey the sheer awe-inspiring beauty of nearly 3 minutes and 34 seconds of Totality from our vantage point in SE Indiana.  This is a HDR image of 7 bracketed shots that covered 12 stops! Even then, it did not capture fully the incredible dynamic range of the Corona details.  In real-life viewing, the corona itself was brilliant white though you could absolutely see the red solar prominences , particularly at 6:00.  Shot with a modified 80D, the corona absolutely had more color to it than I expected, not really touching saturation in the limited processing.  I have hundreds of other images of the waxing and waning eclipse, but these 3.5 minutes were unforgettable.
