Description

Leaning quite far over into the east, I managed to pick up the final six fields to complete the ABC survey below -60 south.  Although this is not the final product; [ [url=https://www.astrobin.com/users/james.tickner/]@James Tickner   is refining the mosaicing software for the survey], this is the best I can do with the PI mosaicing routines at the moment.

Its quite a colourful area of sky, with the stars of the Southern Cross, the Southern Pleiades and the Eta Carine, Running Chicken and Statue of Liberty nebula  to name a few.  The dark nebulae are also a feature of this area, including the Coal Sack or Te Patiki [The Flounder] in Te Reo Maori, celebrating the terrestial platform from which this image was obtained.

Many of these fields in the Southern Hemisphere are also being contributed to the MARSS project, so we can all have better gradient correction.  If you have the sky (Bortle 4 or lower) and the gear, (100mm-200mm focal length), please consider joining the survey - we could really do with your help.
