Description

This HOO formula adds a bit of the H-alpha image to both the the green and blue channels, in addition to OIII already there.  Hence it adds H-alpha as teal.  I used a blue color mask in PI to enhance the background OIII signal.  This revealed dim H-alpha emissions a bit more.  This is yet another fascinating region in Cygnus.  Near frame center is the controversial object Abell 71.  The debate is whether it is indeed a planetary nebula or not.  I vote yes because I found a significant OIII signature there, whereas others have not.  For me, the really interesting features in this frame are the filamentary structures surrounding Abell 71 to its north, west, and east.  These show up strongly in both H-alpha and SII light, but only the H signature is depicted here.  SH2-115 is the bright area just below and to the left of Abell 71.
