Description

12 hours of integration time in a short streak of 3 clear nights within weeks of thick clouds gave me decent data to capture this beautiful object.

I went through several processing lines in Pixinsight, ending up that an STF stretched version plus Bill Blenchins SHO noirmalization would do best.
Weirdly my favored GHS process threw out too extreme versions and Graxpert mistook the nebulosity as a gradient and killed it.
BlurX-, NoiseX- and StarXTerminator did their essential magic reliably.

The Rosette nebula in Monocerus is about 5000 lightyears away from earth and 130 lightyears in diameter and about 10.000 sun masses large.
The beautiful nebulosity is being created by its central star cluster of fairly new stars, its radiation illuminating the H alpha region to its vibrant colors, that are emphasized by the SHO imaging.
