Description

I finally got around to getting a field flattener for the RC, and it makes a huge difference in the field curvature. I was a bit worried that the 2" FF would not be able to fully correct or illuminate the Full Frame ASI2400MC, but I was very happy to find that was a non issue. In this image I opted to not crop in at all except for the stacking artifacts to show off how well corrected stars at the corners of the field are. Anyone looking into getting this scope or any RC telescope for imaging purposes should strongly consider getting a field flattener, especially when using large sensors on the smaller scopes <10".

All data for this image was captured in the 3 days leading up to a full moon. That being said, I am very impressed with how much detail I was still able to get considering the moon glow.
