Description

The Horsehead Nebula (Barnard 33) is some 1,500 light years distant in the Orion molecular cloud complex.  Just below the head of the horse is NGC 2023 – an emission and reflection nebula.  

The Horsehead was photographed between 14 February 2021 and 1 February 2022.  Capture details are as follows:

Filters: Astrodon
Mount: 10 Micron GM2000HPS

Ha: 54 x 1200s
Lum: 59 x 600s
Red: 43 x 300s
Green: 40 x 300s
Blue: 40 x 300s

A total of 38 hours and 05 minutes exposure.
