Description

NGC 7293 or more commonly known as the Helix Nebula or Eye of God or Eye of Sauron is a planetary nebula formed by the expanding shell of glowing gas around a dying low-mass star. It is located in the constellation Aquarius and is about 650 light years away with a diameter of about 2.5 light-years.
