15 frame mosaic of the Rho Ophiucus cloud comnplex. Originally started as a 3x3 frame project, then decided to add another row at the top to get the red neb and glob clusters. Later found that diffraction spikes from Antares were too strong to tame with overlapping frames so shot another column of 3 frames centred around middle left of the final frame. Still some diffracted red light at the 2 o'clock position just to right of Rho Oph itself.
Data collected over 3 southern winters (2017 - 2019). Wasn't sure I'd ever be able to pull this together, but thanks to Pixinsight MosaicByCoordinates and Photometric Mosaic (John Murphy) was eventually able to tiled it all together and start processing the linear L, R, G, B data.
Have always been fascinated by the region and never had decent lens/camera tools to do it just with widefield. Probably a bit obsessive compulsive to do it this way
Total of 542 separate 5min subs = 45hrs of data.
