I have been trying to capture this target over a number of years.
In 2017 I took an Ioptron Sky tracker to Spain with a DSLR and got an image, then I went back in 2018 and took a CCD camera and same set up. However I was using cheap camera lenses and I never liked the star shapes. They are still not brilliant but a darn site better than previously.

Now I have a Samyang 135mm lens and decided |i would like to try to get some better luminance, but not planning a trip to Spain again. So I attempted to get some data from East Sussex where I was camping at the weekend, this time using a proper tracking mount and could do 600sec exposures, but it didn;t rise until 1.30am and took a while to lift itself out of the murk. So I only ended up with 8 usable Luminance subs.

I would still love to be able to do this target justice, but I think unless I moved abroad or used data from a remote observatory which is not for me as I like to do the whole job myself, I think I have to accept the limitations of what i am able to achieve.

4 hours DSLR in Spain, and I only used the Luminance taken last weekend, and the FOV chopped off half of Rho Orphiucci, so looks like I will still need another go at some stage.

Views by Submitters (available since September 19th, 2023) Every image is assigned to 50% of available Submitters. In the event that at least 80% of them don't view the image before its time in the IOTD/TP process expires, it's assigned to the other 50% of Submitters and the process begins anew.
Promotions by Submitters When 3 distinct Submitters promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for Top Pick status. This requirement, in addition to anonymization of images and distribution to only a subset of them, prevents biases and ensures that the best images are selected.
Promotions by Reviewers When 3 distinct Reviewers promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for IOTD status.
Early dismissal Staff members have a lot of images to inspect on a daily basis, and they can dismiss images if they believe they don't meet the requirements for IOTD/TP selection. If an image is dismissed 5 times, it's removed from the process. This streamlines the process and ensures that any bias present in promotions could be overruled by other staff members.
