Description

This is a pre-monsoon project (summer rainy season in southern AZ). I haven't captured any new data since this series of imaging sessions, but our monsoon looks to be winding down; fingers crossed. I captured data in RGB and SHO as I had clear skies and wasn't sure which set of data would show the most interesting details. I was rooting for RGB, but SHO wins for this target IMO. 

This is a bright object and the data came our remarkably low-noise. But it was still very difficult to process as there is so much going on. For the SHO image, I used the following blending:
- R: 0.8 * SII +  0.2 * Ha
- G: 0.4 * SII + 0.6 * OIII
- B: OIII

I replace the narrow band stars with stars from the RGB data. The RGB processing is pretty conventional. One thing I found interesting while working on this target is that I couldn't get convolution to work in a satisfactory way. This process seemed to really over-sharpen delicate details in the nebula, a first in my experience. Luckily, I don't feel this data really needed deconvolution.
