Description

It's cold out and traditionally and very little clear skies the months of December and January. Good time to get the gear ready and YouTube all the latest and greatest in the astrophotography world. I remember my pops telling me it's always better to purchase then ask for forgiveness.
A friend of mine asked how I process my photos and I responded I watch YouTube. I am an amateur, amateur, so, here it goes as it pertains to the Christmas Tree Nebula narrow band.
PixinSite
WBP Stack with Cosmetic Correction, drizzle, and crop
Open mono files> Graxpert> Image statistics (mean)> Linear fit (brightness calibration)> Channel Combination (2) HSO, (1) SHO and (1) HOO.
Each Channel combination is treated mostly the same - SPCC> BlurX> StarX> NoiseX> Stretch (Bill'sV6)> HSO>Bills HSO normalization, SHO> Bills SHO normalization and HOO> Bills HOO normalization pick what you like then off to Photoshop for polish and shine.

The second HSO is used for the Stars only layer, >pixel math >SPCC>StarX then off to Photoshop to use as star layer.

Many THANKS - Peter Zelinka, Cuiv, Adam Block, Shawn Nielsen, Bill Blanshan, lukomatico, Sascha Wyss, Wido Oerlemans and so many others that have helped my journey along. So much great content and these folks work their tail off for a few cups of coffee!
