Description

SH2-132, also known as the Lion Nebula, is an emission nebula straddling the boundary between the Cepheus and Lacerta constellations. The nebula's vibrant display is likely attributed to the presence of two Wolf-Rayet stars, namely HD211564 and HD211853 (referred to as WR153). Remarkably, each of these stars contributes its own distinct hue to the nebulous expanse when observed through narrowband imaging techniques.

In the HOO-processed rendition (the second image), the contrast becomes especially pronounced. The nebulous region linked with HD211564 unveils a teal shade, signifying the presence of Oxygen III. Meanwhile, the nebulosity associated with WR153 and other colossal stars comes alive in red, representative of Hydrogen-alpha emissions.
