Description

Look at the waist of the Centaurus the Centaur, you will see the largest globular cluster in Milky Way. NGC 5139, best known as Omega Centauri, is a bright naked-eye globular cluster with 3.7 apparent magnitudes. With a diameter of roughly 150 light-years, it is estimated to contain approximately 10 million stars and a total mass equivalent to 4 million solar masses. This giant globular cluster is located at a distance of 15,800 light-years from us.
