Description

vdB 137 (also known as IC 5076) is a faint reflection nebula in the constellation Cygnus. It is located in the northern part of the constellation, about 2° north of the central part of the North America Nebula. The nebula is linked to the star HD 199478, a blue supergiant of spectral class B8Iae with strong emission lines peculiar enough to be classified as a Be star. Its apparent magnitude is 5.73, and being a pulsating variable (V2140 Cygni) shows changes in brightness of the order of 0.1 magnitudes. Its distance is estimated to 1750 parsecs (5700 light years).

This image consists of 183 4 minute subs, 12.2 hrs of exposure.  This area of the sky is a dense star field rich in size, type, color, and distance.

Title: vdB137 - blurx v2 ai4

Description: Two major changes in this image. BlurX v2 AI4 applied to fix the collimation issue with my stars in the original image. Also darkened the background a touch simply to please me. It looked a bit smudgy, perhaps due to graX, I'm not sure. Still has the hydrogen in the background, just not as distracting. This revision is much more pleasing to me.
