Description

This image was taken in early August during a surprise break in Arizona's Monsoon Season. The image was taken with an ASI2600mm Pro through a RedCat 51 1x. The image comprises:

SII:    12 x 300s
Ha:    12 x 300s
OIII:    12 x 300s

Total integration time was three hours.

The image was processed in PixInsight and StarTools and tweaked in PhotoShop. The final image is greener than I normally like with the SHO palette, but I think it looks good with these nebulae.

Note: I am using a ProAstroGear Black-Cat Mount to secure a ZWO EAF and ZWO Guidescope and ASI120mm to the RedCat. The Black-Cat Mount arrived back in June, but this was the first chance I had to test it out. The EAF works well with the Black-Cat, though one has to watch how it is attached, since the ring that goes around the RedCat's focuser only has teeth on half of the ring - I had to adjust the Black-Cat focus ring during my initial focus so that I had room to focus the scope. But that was a one-time issue.

I also noticed that APT's autofocus routine does not work well with the Black-Cat (it works fine with the EAFs on my other telescopes), but using the manual software controls is fairly simple. It is so much easier to focus the RedCat with the EAF on the Black-Cat Mount compared to trying to do it by hand.  One other note: You cannot remove the RedCat from its mount once the Black-Cat is attached. The Black-Cat is secured by screws on the top of the RedCat mounting cradle, which will not open with the Black-Cat attached. To remove the scope from its cradle, the Black-Cat Mount must be removed first.
