Description

Trying to get the most out of what remains of the Jupiter observing season.  The conditions weren't great on the evening of the 12th but I caught a brief window of average seeing and was able to put this image together.  This consists of 15 one minute videos, best 40% of frames stacked in AS4!, and derotated in WinJupos.  In the image Io is on the far right side of the frame and Europa is in front of Jupiter's globe, right above the white oval.  I processed Io separately to avoid it getting blown out with the wavelets applied to jupiter.  Europa looks nice and sharp, that is the result of WinJupos' "Correction of the planetary moons and their shadows" option.

A new technique I used during this session was to focus live on the screen using FireCapture's newly updated "Average" plugin now with stacking and sharpening.   This made things a lot more enjoyable vs my Bahtinov method.

Capture method:
Uncover the scope and turn cooling fans on at sunset
Focus, collimate, refocus
Capture as many 60sec videos from 45° to the Meridian.
Check focus on screen using "Average" plugin every 20 minutes
Check collimation every hour or so

Processing:
AS4! best 40%, 1.5X drizzle
Registax wavelets and RGB Balance, Io processed separately
WinJupos derotation of 15 stacks
Photoshop histogram, saturation, denoise, reduce size to 75%

Thanks for checking out my images, comments and tips are welcomed.
