Description

M 106 is a Spiral Galaxy in Canes Venatici. It lies 25 million light years away. Lying 13' arc sec. away ( bottom right corner of the frame) is a possible companion galaxy NGC 4217.
The Moon ( almost full, and lying 50 degrees away) was quite a nuisance when it came to processing this image. I had to use three iterations of DBE to eliminate the gradients in the background.
