Description

It's been a nine month hiatus for me here on Astrobin... a number of factors not least of which has been the longest most sutained period of horrible imaging weather I have ever experienced in Brisbane, Australia ...only a handful of clear evenings over the last 5months or so but often with humidity up in the 80-90% zone ... that pushed me into what was always going to be a lull of imaging as my passion for the hobby just hasn't been all that high to bother to struggle around poor conditions.

This image is already ancient history as was taken in 2-3 hours chunks over 10 separate mornings from August to October last year (2023)... but it's the most recent data I've gathered and in the hope of kick starting my enthusiasm have finally got round to processing (probably overprocessing, but I feel I need the colour :-)

I think this amounts to around 15hours of SHO and a couple hours of RGB for stars...but actually I ended up doing a star blend using more the SHO stars as I wierdly felt the colour was more pleasing on the SHO.

This was then a blend of processing via APP and Startools brought together in PS CC to try and get the best mix of detail, colour and contrast.

Here I've done both starless and starred versions and will lead with the starless as the nebula stands on it's own well enough.

comments always welcome.
