Description

The Fornax Dwarf is a dwarf spheroidal galaxy in a retrograde orbit around the Milky Way.  It's interesting in that it contains globular clusters which are visible through a backyard telescope.  There are not many globular clusters outside the Milky Way that can be observed from a suburban backyard!  Four globular clusters are visible in this image although the cores of the clusters are a little blown out as I've chosen to enhance the visibility of the fainter stars in the dwarf at the expense of detail in the clusters.
