Description

It had been over a year since I had last setup and used my portable setup, just because I rarely go anywhere outside of my backyard.  However, my local astronomy club has an outreach planned for April, so I thought I had better see if I still remembered how to setup and use it.  My normal setup runs on a laptop with N.I.N.A. and a GEM45G.  My portable setup is with a CEM25P and an ASIAIR, not the pro, the plus or the mini, the original one in a plastic case.  I did use it for several years as my main imaging computer before I went to a more permanent setup with a Skyshed POD, several years ago,  and the ASIAIR worked very well in those days.  However, since then, there have been many ASIAIR updates with lots of new features that I had never used.  Also, I had never used the ASIAIR with an EAF on the telescope, so I wasn't really sure how that would work,  since I recently added a ZWO EAF to my AT72EDII.  All in all, it went pretty well, my only issue at all was remembering where to mount the ASI120mm Mini in the ZWO mini guide scope in order to achieve focus.  Once I got it figured it out, I was  pleasantly surprised to see guiding at .5" or better RMS.
