Captured with AP130GT and 0.8 reducer (27TVPH). ~640mm FL at f/5.0 using QHY268C one shot color camera. Captured 45 x 2 minute exposures,
unguided on an AP900GTO mount before the moon came up (and the galaxy got too low in the sky). The point of this endeavor was to convince myself using a OSC camera was going to give decent results (and fun) when time was limited by weather conditions or other constraints. Color saturation is limited in this image by the short total exposure time but I am sure would improve with more time. I was doing a quick setup so I didn't use any guiding (thus shorter exposures). Processed in Pixinsight (my first time). Date of capture: 2/10/2023. I do like this camera.
Last time I imaged M31 was in 2010 using the same AP130GT (no reducer) with an SBIG STL-11000M camera for 4.5hrs using LRGB filters. 90 minutes vs. 4.5 hours... decent comparison, I think.
