Description

This is a wide field view of IC443 (Jellyfish Nebula), which is a supernova remnant in the constellation Gemini, and IC444, a small, 32 square-arcminutereflection nebula to the left of the jellyfish. I imaged it with an Askar 103 APO with a 0.6X reducer which gave me a focal length of 420mm at f/4. I opted for the shorter focal length because it gave me an aperture of f/4 instead of the f/6.8 of the prime telescope, thereby giving me more than twice the amount of data. The image was captured in the Bortle 1 skies of Brewster County, Texas.
