Description

I overexposed a little because I wanted make sure to capture today's incredibly active prominences. This is the most active I've seen the Sun since I started working in hydrogen-alpha.

I captured 180 seconds at full disk with an asi485mc in ASIstudio, then stacked the best 50% and touched up in photoshop. Nothing too fancy yet.

I've rotated to roughly match NASA's solar dynamics observatory.

Version B is experimental processing:
0) crop, rotate, etc., and set to greyscale
1) process to emphasize proms (washing out surface), recolor, save
2) process to emphasize surface (losing proms), recolor, save
3) copy surface onto proms as a composite.
4) final photoshop touchup
