Revision title: The Ghost

Y-Cas Nebula
Located in the constellation of Cassiopeia this rather feint nebula is illuminated by a very bright Magnitude 2.15 star Navi.
There was good signal coming from the Ha filter, less from the Sii filter and almost nothing coming from Oiii.

The faint areas needed a lot of exposure time to bring them out. It took some work with PixInsight to keep the bright star from overpowering the rest of the image. I used masks that covered Navi to keep it from blowing up while I stretched the image. This was NOT an easy nebula to process, I hope my final version is an OK representation.

It could use another full night of imaging to bring out the faintest areas and tone down the noise. I hate to overdo de-noising and get a plastic look to the final image.
The weather is turning cloudy and rainy so it may be a few days before I am able to do a revision with more subs, so I will show you what I have at this point in time.

Update: 10/27/22
I added more subs and removed many mediocre subs.
I processed the image a bit differently. I gave the narrowband masters a very small stretch before doing most of the processing. Once the final image was almost done I gave it noise reduction and more stretch. Finally I added the stars to the starless image.
The final image is smoother and has less noise.
Tonight should be clear and with a bit of luck I will add another 5 or 6 hours of narrowband subs.
This area of the sky is faint and difficult to process. It needs a lot of hours of integration to bring out the faint details.

Update 10/28/22
More subs added, especially Ha. I brought out more of the red and blue in this image and added a bit more contrast. Everything is getting smoother and less noisy with 24 hours of integration.
