Description

This image was taken during the morning of October 10, 2020. With the moon still close to the target, I went for the SHO palette. This image was taken with an ZWO ASI1600mm Pro through an Explore Scientific 127ED refractor using a Hotech field flattener on an EQ6-R Pro mount.

I captured the Crab Nebula last year with the 72mm refractor, but the 127ED provides a much better FOV for the target. The image comprises:

SII: 12 x 300s

Ha: 12 x 300s

OIII: 12 x 300s

Total exposure time was three hours. The image was processed in Pixinsight, StarTools and Photoshop.

Once the moon clears the morning sky, I will go back for RGB data to create a HaRGB image.
